Eliza Catherine Reynolds (York, Western Australia)
January 4, 2019 – March 30, 2025
Eliza, daughter of Clark and Brittany Reynolds, beautiful big sister to Emilia, proud dog sissy to Lucas, and a smitten cousin to Mack Reynolds (Northam, Western Australia); Forrest, Ruby, Atlas, and Autumn Moore (Nova Scotia, Canada). Loved by Uncle Simon and Aunty Caitlin (Northam, Western Australia); Nanny Gillian and Poppy Paul (Grass Valley, Western Australia); Uncle Jesse and Aunty Rae (Nova Scotia, Canada); Aunties Jessica and Amanda (Newfoundland, Canada); Nanny Paula and Poppy Dave (Nova Scotia, Canada); Gammy Sue (Nova Scotia, Canada); and Nanny Kay & Grampy Bill (Nova Scotia, Canada). Best friend to many.
Eliza was predeceased by her best friend and cherished Grampy, Christopher Moore.
Eliza exuded joy in everything she did. From the moment she woke until the moment she went to sleep, her energy was unmatched. Giggles and karate kicks filled the minutes while she was awake. Eliza lived passionately, with so much personality, love, and sparkle. If you were a friend, you were not allowed to walk by without a hug.
Eliza was a proud York local. She adored her school, her friends, and every shop on the main street. She could be found at the Dolphin Cafe (The Flour Mill Cafe) every chance she got. On one of her last walks through town, she paused with a sigh and said, “This place is so wonderful, I love it here.” Eliza lived a life that many aspire to have—enjoying the simple things and hugging everyone who crossed her path.
Eliza also spent nearly half of her life in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, building bonds and making memories with family and friends. She loved the season changes, fishing with Grampy, and hanging out on Nanny Kay’s back deck. She learned to ice skate, ski, and play soccer there, embracing Canadian life with curiosity and joy. She was a proud dual citizen of both Australia and Canada—loving both places as home in her heart.
We know Eliza’s passing will leave a trail of sadness, and the ripple of her loss will be felt far and wide—but we hope that as each person close to Eliza grieves, they find connection and kindness with those around them. Eliza would tell you that life without meaningful and tight hugs is a life not good enough. Hug each person with passion and kindness.
In the words of Moana, “I am always with you, just in another way.”
We warmly extend an invitation to those wishing to honour Eliza’s life to join us for a public service at the York Town Hall on Thursday, April 24th at 10:00am (please arrive by 9:30am).
There will be no wake, however a joyful carnival for Eliza’s peers will commence at 2:00pm.
Donations in Eliza’s honour can be made to the Chordoma Foundation, or you may wish to stay tuned for a special announcement coming soon.
